Why chose us
All our orthoses are custom made in our on-site laboratory with input from our American Board Certified Orthotists. The techniques and designs utilized for our orthotics have been developed through decades of experience with ongoing research and development by our company.
Throughout the many changes of our company’s existence, our goal has always remained the same; provide the highest level of orthotic patient care while recognizing that each patient is an individual with distinct orthotic needs.
Our company has specialized in pediatric specific orthotic care since its inception and we can assure that a “one size fits all” approach will never be used in addressing your patient’s needs. Our approach to orthotics is just as unique as every one of our patients.
Casting Process
Patients will need to have impressions of their lower limbs to obtain a positive model that can be modified and used for fabrication of their orthoses.
This process only takes about 20 minutes, and the casting appointment will include an evaluation of the child’s current patterns, range of motion measurements, and an intake of their medical history and interventions.
The child will be asked to lie prone with their knees flexed at 90*.
The orthotist will obtain the subtalar neutral position of the foot and ankle complex and will proceed to take impressions of the child in this corrected position using plaster bandage.
A correct and neutral alignment will produce congruity in the joints of the ankle thereby providing the foundation for proper development of the child’s bones.
This alignment will be translated to the positive model used to fabricate the orthoses so the child remains in this corrected position when using his/her orthoses.
